The Battle of Hatfield Investigation Society ((BOHIS) commissioned a Finds Report from our archaeological providers, MERCIAN CIC which was delivered on 1/2/2022. We thank David Budge, Andy Gaunt and Sean Crossley for their excellent production. This was a requirement for the Welbeck Estates Company Ltd. and largely covers our 2020 finds but also reviews a few extra finds from our 2018 HLF ‘Warriors Through The Landscape’ project.
Note : Our ‘Warriors ..’ book (physical or web site copy) has already covered the main 2018 finds – see P58-69 (‘Finds Under The Microscope’ by David Budge (MERCIAN).
This new 2022 report, entitled, ‘ A Selection of Interesting Finds from Cuckney (or 50+ finds from Cuckney)’ has now been posted to our web site under the ‘Projects’ , ‘Self Funded Projects 2020’. ‘Publications’ area.
It may be advisable to read / print this before attending our meeting of the 23rd of September, in order to get the most out of the accompanying physical finds that will be brought to the meeting.
We will also endeavour to print off a single copy for reference at the meeting.
