Dear All,
Just a reminder that our, FREE “Topography Fieldwork Saturday” is tomorrow in the 2 fields abutting St. Mary’s Church, Cuckney (divided by the River Poulter).
Since today is our 5th day of Topography, we already have things to reveal, such as a fine irrigation system developed in 1849/50. We hope to use a drone today to obtain an aerial view of these works.
Excitingly, we also obtained the LIDAR results yesterday, so we’ll have to see if we can look at those today & see if it reveals any exciting secrets.
It doesn’t matter what time you arrive – we start at 9:30am and finish at 5:30pm, but please “report” to Cuckney Village Hall firstly where we’ll record your attendance & point you in the direction of the archaeologists in the field !
There will also be free Tea & Coffee (plus biscuits).
Come along for as long as you like.
Regards,
From the Battle of Hatfield & MERCIAN Teams
