Dear Supporters,
Our next meeting is on Friday 18th October at 7:30pm @ Cuckney Cricket Club.
This is fully explained in the leaflet below, which will be hand delivered by Jennie and myself to all houses in Cuckney and Norton (as usual) within the next few days.
Two of the most important issues are :
- The gaining of further permissions from Welbeck that will allow genuine progress to be made within a reasonable time frame – as the more mature a society becomes the harder it is to retain interest
- Obtaining a further (3rd) set of Heritage Lottery funding – which is crucial to finding a potential battlefield
We have also recently sent a letter to the Diocese of Southwell, detailing our progress and research and requesting a meeting with them in order to ascertain what we would need to do to gain a Faculty to allow an analysis of some of the skeletal material from one of the reinterment sites.
We have also recently submitted a 2nd article for inclusion in Battlefield magazine (in their next edition), having supplied our first article back in 2017. I would urge you to invest £5 in copy when it is printed.
